Kentucky-A&M total will Under-whelm
By GREG PETERSON
The Kentucky Wildcats have gotten things rolling with three straight doubledigit wins entering their showdown with Texas A&M in College Station on Wednesday.
The Wildcats rank first in the nation in rebound rate and have the country’s leader in rebounds per game, Oscar Tshiebwe, who is pulling down 14.9 rebounds per game.
These have been two of the better units in the country on defense, with Kentucky 13th in points allowed on a per-possession basis and Texas A&M 26th in this category.
Turnovers have played a big role in Texas A&M’s current eight-game winning streak, as they rate eighth among Division I teams in turnovers forced on a per-possession basis, with one generated on 24.8 percent of possessions. Kentucky’s opponents get a rebound on 16.1 percent of their missed shots in the Wildcats’ road games, and Kentucky has held 14 of its past 16 opponents to fewer than 70 points, so the only thing that won’t be bigger in Texas on Wednesday is the amount of points in this game.
THE PLAY: KentuckyTexas A&M total, Under 146.5 points.
