HECHE'S 'BOOZY' PODCAST CHATTER

Actress hinted at drinking, ‘bad days’

By LEE BROWN

Anne Heche slurred her way through a podcast that was posted a day before her horrifying high-speed crash in Los Angeles, saying she was downing vodka and wine after being “rocked” by “very bad days.”

The 53-year-old actress wore shades throughout the episode of her podcast, “Better Together,” which TMZ reported was published Thursday, a day before her car smashed into a Mar Vista home in a fiery wreck that left her severely burned.

The episode has since been deleted, and Heche’s rep told the celebrity-news outlet that it was actually recorded Monday.

Slurred speech

Still, the actress admitted on the show to heavy boozing and blamed unspecified events for causing her to suffer “no good, very bad days.”

Heche, who hosts the weekly podcast with p.r. exec Heather Duffy, joked that listeners would have to keep their “fingers crossed” for them to make it through the recording.

“We are sitting with Re:Find. We each have a bottle in front of us because our friends sent us Re:Find,” Heche said enthusiastically, naming a Paso Robles, Calif., distillery that makes artisanal gin, whiskey and vodka among other spirits.

In a photo taken minutes before Friday’s wreck, Heche is seen in her Mini Cooper with what appears to be a bottle of vodka in the cup holder.

On the podcast, Duffy also joked that a doctor had told them “that we should be drinking vodka instead of wine.”

“And we listened,” Heche said, before adding, “And we are drinking it, with wine chasers.”

Heche, who was slurring so badly that she mispronounced the podcast’s name, then explained that she was boozing after “a very unique day.”

“I don’t know what happened.

Sometimes days just suck,” she said, without elaborating. “I’m rocked. I am rocked.” She later complained about being interrupted while trying to meditate, as well as moving from her apartment in the same building where Johnny Depp had shared a residence with exwife Amber Heard.

Heche allegedly struck a building with her Mini minutes before Friday’s wreck, which set the Mar Vista house aflame.

It took about 60 firefighters over an hour to put out the fire, which left the home destroyed.

TMZ shared images of the troubled actress lunging forward in a stretcher at the scene as first responders loaded her into an ambulance.

The house’s resident, identified as Lynne Mishele, “very narrowly escaped” the blaze and lost an “entire lifetime of possessions, mementos” and work and household items, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser.

Duffy, the podcast co-host, said on Saturday that Heche was “in stable condition.”

“Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and to respect her privacy during this difficult time,” she said.
