Woman’s corpse found in Bx. bin

A woman’s “semi-decomposed” body was found stuffed inside of a plastic bin in a wooded area in The Bronx on Friday afternoon, NYPD said.

The grisly discovery was made around 12:15 p.m. near 4438 Edson Ave. in Wakefield in a secluded area used as a shortcut by locals to get to the train and stores, according to police and neighbors.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the woman’s cause of death, police said.

It’s not clear how long the woman had been dead, but one neighborhood resident, James Washington, told The Post he saw the bin on Wednesday while walking down the path with his girlfriend.

“I kicked it, and it felt heavy. I was gonna come back and open it, but I didn’t open it,” he said.

When he returned home from work Thursday and saw the area taped off, he said he “knew it had to be something with this the other day.”

“I knew it was a body in there,” Washington said.

There have been no charges in the disturbing case.
