Patient advocate: Enforce Price-Posting Rules

Dems’ Inflation Reduction Act extends “expanded pandemic-era” ObamaCare subsidies. Yet transferring costs to taxpayers won’t address health care’s “unaffordability crisis,” fumes Cynthia A. Fisher at The Hill, but simply make it easier for insurers to hike premiums. Better: “health care price transparency,” i.e., posting health-care prices upfront to let customers choose “the highest quality care at the lowest possible price.” Recent federal transparency rules could usher in this “pro-consumer” marketplace, yet a PatientsRightAdvocate.org study found only 16% of hospitals complying, and Team Biden has so far fined just two hospitals out of thousands flouting the rules. Please “unleash a health care affordability revolution by boosting compliance through robust and timely enforcement.”
