INSIDE THE MATCHUPS

METS: Peterson is back from Triple-A Syracuse and in the rotation with Max Scherzer landing on the injured list. In his first four outings (three starts) with the Mets this season, Peterson has a 1.11 WHIP across 19 innings.

GIANTS: In his last outing, a 10-7 win in Denver last Tuesday, Cobb earned the win. The righty, however, was hit hard and gave up seven runs on 10 hits while walking one and striking out four in 5 ¹/3 innings. In 25 2/3 innings this season, Cobb has 32 strikeouts and has given up two homers.
