RANDOM SUBWAY SLAY

Gunman kills straphanger as vic’s kin slams mayor

Daniel Enriquez was killed on his way to brunch “without provocation” by a gunman on the Q train yesterday in the latest heinous crime to shock the city, prompting the victim’s family to lash out at Mayor Adams: “Do your job! Get crime off the streets.”

Sunday’s horrific murder of a passenger on the Q train marked the fourth subway homicide of the year, the NYPD said — intensifying fears in the Big Apple barely a month after the mass shooting that left 10 straphangers wounded by gunfire.

Police said four people have been killed on trains or in stations since Jan. 1, including the 48-year-old man gunned down in an apparent random act of violence as his train went over the Manhattan Bridge.

Other subway homicide victims included Michelle Go, who was shoved onto the tracks by a deranged vagrant Jan. 15.

Felony subway crime was up 53% last month, compared with April 2021, according to NYPD statistics released Friday.

Subway crime rates have soared since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic — from 1.47 felonies per 1 million riders in 2019 to 2.11 in April 2022, according to the latest NYPD and MTA figures. Total felonies and felony assaults both dropped in April 2022, compared with the previous month.
