Cardinals safety out of hospital

Post wire services

Cardinals safety Budda Baker was released from a Los Angeles hospital Tuesday, one day after he suffered a scary on-field injury resulting from a head-on collision with Rams running back Cam Akers.

Baker was diagnosed with a concussion and said he never lost feeling or movement in his extremities. The Cardinals shared a picture over social media of Baker on a plane headed back to Arizona after being released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier in the day.

Baker was taken off the field on a stretcher in the third quarter of Monday’s NFC wild-card game in Inglewood, Calif., won by the Rams.

“Thank you for all the prayers. I am doing good,” Baker said via social media.

COWBOYS: With two days to think about his words, Dak Prescott apologized for praising Cowboys fans who threw debris at the officials after Sunday’s loss to the 49ers.

“I deeply regret the comments I made regarding the officials after the game on Sunday,” he tweeted. “I was caught up in the emotion of a disappointing loss and my words were uncalled for and unfair.”

SEAHAWKS: Seattle fired defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. and passing game coordinator Andre Curtis, the team said.

VIKINGS: Minnesota added Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris to its candidate list for head coach.

BENGALS: Defensive end Trey Hendrickson was a limited practice participant on Tuesday, three days after sustaining a concussion.

PANTHERS: Carolina expanded its offensive coordinator search to include former Washington coach Jay Gruden and three others, according to a person familiar with the situation.

49ERS: Jimmy Garoppolo is dealing with injuries to his right thumb and right shoulder as he prepares for Saturday’s divisional round playoff game at Green Bay. He was limited at practice Tuesday.
