Floyd-trial move bid

Patrick Reilly

Officials in a Minnesota city want to hot-potato to Minneapolis the trial of four ex-cops facing federal charges in the 2020 death of George Floyd.

The trial of the former Minneapolis police officers indicted for civil-rights violations is set to take place in St. Paul, but city officials are requesting it be moved to its Twin City.

St. Paul officials are citing concerns over the additional security and traffic, the Star Tribune reported.

The trial is expected to bring protesters to the area and could strain St. Paul’s resources, officials said.
