THE KING OF ALL RODENTS

Stern guinea-pig save

By DEAN BALSAMINI

Shock jock Howard Stern finally has a guinea pig to test out new material — or maybe just snuggle.

The “King of All Media” and his feline-fancying wife, Beth, have a new member of their cat-centric family — Leslie, an abandoned Upper West Side guinea pig whose desperate plight was plastered on social media.

Workers discovered the abandoned critter in front of a prewar rental building on West 76th Street Monday at around 7:35 a.m. and a passerby, Judith Sisco, rushed the rodent into her building lobby and gave it food and water.

The abandoned guinea pig was “out with the trash with no food or water in a box,” she recalled.

Sisco put out the word on Nextdoor and Facebook that the furball needed a permanent pad — and the news spread faster than cream cheese at Sunday brunch across the animal-friendly nabe.

”People were texting . . . Everybody was really lovely and it was super heartwarming and a boost to our neighborhood,” she said.

In less than three hours, a neighbor who had previously adopted a cat from Beth Stern’s adoption organization, Beth’s Furry Friends, reached out to the radio legend’s much better half.

“Beth agreed to adopt it!” Sisco said. “Now the guinea pig is a celebrity!”

Beth Stern shared the happy news and a video on Instagram showing the critter blissfully chowing down on lettuce.

Howard, she wrote, was hooked on the black, white and tan guinea pig and had even been the one to name her Leslie. Neither could be reached for comment.

“I just want to take my blowdryer and fix that cowlick!” quipped fellow celeb Jessica Seinfeld, author and wife of comedian Jerry Seinfeld.

“Leslie is at a 5 star resort now,” posted pplesk.

goodness she found her way to you and Howard!!!”

Leslie joins the Stern’s adopted cats cats Walter, Bella, Yoda, Pebble and Helen Rose, according to the North Shore Animal League America, where Beth is the national spokeswoman.

“Over the past six years, Beth has provided spay or neuter, foster care and facilitated adoptions for over 1,500 unwanted cats and kittens,” Stern’s adoption Web site states.
