Monica Abbott is likely to get the start, a day before her 36th birthday. The game is scheduled to re-air on NBCSN after 8 p.m.

GYMNASTICS, WOMEN’S TEAM FINAL, 8 P.M., NBC: Simone Biles & Co. — a surprise second in qualifying after a series of stumbles and missteps — remain the favorite despite trailing the team representing the Russian Olympic Committee. The event will air live on Peacock beginning at 6:45 a.m.

SWIMMING, 8 P.M., NBC: There are five medals up for grabs — with the first final beginning at 9:40 p.m. Katie Ledecky will go for her second straight gold in the 200-meter free, then come back and go for gold in the Olympic final debut of the 1,500 free.
