Brit’s bid: Dump dad for a CPA

Kate Sheehy

Britney Spears wants a certified public accountant from Los Angeles to replace her dad as the co-conservator of her estate, according to a court filing Monday.

The troubled pop star’s celebrity lawyer, Matt Rosengart, made the pitch to the judge overseeing Spears’ case, TMZ reported, just the latest salvo in the ongoing legal war between the “Toxic’’ singer and her father.

Spears (above) is asking a judge to approve top moneyman Jason Rubin to oversee her finances and gain power of attorney, which would allow him to also manage her health care.

The singer’s father, Jamie Spears, is currently the courtappointed co-conservator in charge of her multimilliondollar estate, while a socialwelfare worker handles personal issues such as her health care.

Spears has repeatedly called her dad’s legal grip on her life “abusive” — including during a virtual court appearance in June in which she demanded the judge arrest him.

The star only just recently won the right to a private lawyer, Rosengart, who vowed to help his client free herself of the legal chains.
