What a rude asnakening

Jackie Salo

A Long Island woman found an 8-foot snake slithering in her driveway — initially thinking it was a hose she left out.

Frances Hughes found the snake outside her Deer Park home around 9 a.m. Sunday.

“I’m like, ‘I thought I put the hose away.’ And it wasn’t the hose,” she told News12.

She called 911, and two officers trapped it in a trash bin.

The snake — believed to be an invasive, illegal Burmese python — is in the care of the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island.
