80K say: Ban Bezos from Earth

Will Feuer

Blast off, Bezos!

More than 80,000 people have signed two petitions to stop Jeff Bezos from returning to Earth after his space flight next month.

“Billionaires should not exist . . . on earth, or in space, but should they decide the latter they should stay there,” reads one of the Change.org petitions, which was titled “Do not allow Jeff Bezos to return to Earth” and had more than 60,000 signatures on Monday.

The other petition, titled “Petition To Not Allow Jeff Bezos Re-Entry To Earth,” had topped 20,000 signatures — and declared that the Amazon mogul was “actually Lex Luthor,” the DC Comics villain.

“He’s actually an evil overlord hellbent on global domination,” the petition reads, claiming Bezos had “worked with the Epsteins and the Knights Templar, as well as the Free Masons to gain control over the whole world.”

“This may be our last chance before they enable the 5G microchips and perform a mass takeover,” it says.

Both petitions were launched days after Bezos, 57, announced that he planned to be aboard his company Blue Origin’s first passenger flight to space on July 20. He will be joined by his brother, Mark, 53, and an as-yet-unidentified auction winner who paid $28 million for a seat on the New Shepard craft.

The flight will make Bezos the first of the billionaire space enthusiasts to blast off, although Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson was reportedly looking to beat him to the punch.
